Raul Albiol - NapoliNapoli defender Raul Albiol has admitted that the Azzurri should have been able to win their past two Serie A matches against Bologna and Chievo.

The Partenopei have drawn their last two league matches against struggling sides, as their 2-2 draw with Bologna on January 19 was followed by a 1-1 draw with Chievo on Saturday, and the 28-year-old believes his team should have been able to secure two victories instead.

Albiol spoke to Sky Sport Italia after Saturday’s draw and conceded that Napoli must work on their game if they want to maintain third place in the Serie A standings.

“It’s a missed opportunity, both this one and the match against Bologna,” said the Spaniard, who scored a late second half goal to bring his team level with the Flying Donkeys.

“These are four points we’ve dropped that could’ve helped us in the standings. Now we must work for the next game.

“We have difficulties with a team when they close down on defence. Historically we struggle with this and we scored the first real chance we had on goal.

“From this point of view there’s still work for us to do.”
