Andrea Pirlo reveals Juventus future

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has revealed he will be staying at Juventus beyond the coming season amid speculation it could be his last in Turin.

The player was speaking at Monday Night’s Gran Gala di Calcio where he was awarded with the Player of the Year award at, as well as being named a member of the squad of the year and was asked about speculation regarding his plans with his contract due to expire in the summer.

“My future? I will remain at Juventus, of course,” he told the press.

Pirlo also spoke of the Serie A record of 28 goals scored from free kicks, currently held by Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihaljovic.

“I hope to be able to overtake Mihaljovic in the near future,” he stated with a wry smile.

Pirlo has made 20 total appearances for Juventus this season throughout all competitions and currently has 24 goals from free kicks, making him four away from tying the record of Mihaljovic, who played in Serie A for 14 years.
