Arsenal are pondering a late loan move for AC Milan hard man Nigel de Jong to help bolster their midfield ranks.

With Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and former Milan player Mathieu Flamini still sidelined, the Gunners are reportedly preparing a bid to bring the Dutchman to the London based club.

According to reports coming from Sports Direct News in England, the Emirates Stadium side are looking to add some depth to their squad as they prepare a late move for Milan tackler de Jong to bring him in on a temporary basis.

De Jong, 29, who left Manchester City in 2012, has been a key performer for the Rossoneri in the heart of midfield this season and has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger who is looking for experience and reinforcements as he makes his final preparations to try and secure the league title.

The Netherlands international who has made 19 appearances for the San Siro side so far in this season’s Serie A has also been watched by fellow Premier League side Liverpool as they look for a replacement for injured Lucas Leiva.
