Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski’s almost-certain arrival at the Allianz Arena next summer has fuelled rumours of a transfer to Juventus for Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic, but his agent has moved to quell rumours linking his client with a move away from the club.

The 27-year-old Croatian international has been the focal point of his side’s attack in the first half of the season, scoring 10 goals in 16 total appearances, as Bayern remain unbeaten at the top of the Bundesliga, seven points ahead of nearest rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

However with Polish hit man Lewandowski touching down in Munich, Mandzukic could see limited playing time, considering Die Roten’s preferred 4-5-1 formation, which sees coach Pep Guardiola deploy a lone striker.

“The player [Mario Mandzukic] is only concentrated on Bayern Munich. They want to defend the Champions League they won last season,” Ivan Cvjetkovic told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“[Pep] Guardiola holds Mandzukic in high esteem, and he has demonstrated this in the first part of the campaign.

“I reiterate that as well as the current season, Mario [Mandzukic] has another two years to run on his contract at Bayern.

“I’m not going to say what the chances are of him joining [Juventus].

“At the moment there are only two aspects to take into consideration: He is well at Bayern, and he has a contract up until 2016.”

Mandzukic has been with Der FCB since moving in a €13 million deal from Wolfsburg in June 2012.
