Bologna’s Diamanti close to joining Guangzhou Evergrande

alessandro-diamanti- bolognaBologna captain Alessandro Diamanti is poised to join Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

The current Asian Champions League winners, who are coached by former Italy coach Marcelo Lippi, are believed to have made an offer of € 8.5 million for the 30-year-old attacking-midfielder which has been accepted by Bologna.

Sky Sport Italia report that the Felsinei playmaker is expected to sign a three year contract with Guangzhou and earn a salary of between €3.2 – 3.3m per season.

The Azzurri international has also been linked with a January transfer to Juventus, but is now thought to be close to signing with the Chinese club.

With Diamanti’s departure expected to be imminent, the Rossoblu have already been linked with three rumoured replacements.

According to Stadio, Sebastian Giovinco of Juventus, former Catania star Alejandro Gomez and Inter’s Mateo Kovacic on a loan move have been short listed as potential alternatives.
