Borussia Dortmund are the verge of making a €7 million offer to Inter for defender Andrea Ranocchia.

Dortmund are chasing a centre back as Neven Subotic has been injured since early November and is out for the remainder of the season and the Italian is seen as a good fit as he would be eligible for the Champions League.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are looking for a fee of €15 million for the 25-year-old but could be willing to lower the fee to around €12m as the player’s contract is due to expire in 2015, while Dortmund are only prepared to offer €7m.

It remains to be seen whether Dortmund’s offer will be enough to tempt the Nerazzurri into selling Ranocchia as the club continues to look for ways to reduce their wage bill.

Ranocchia has been a regular in the Inter line up this season making fourteen league appearances for the Nerazzurri.
