German giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly lining up an offer for controversial AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli, 23, only arrived at the San Siro from Manchester City in January 2013 and has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances so far this season despite the Rossoneri’s poor form.

However, Sky Sport Italia are reporting that Milan’s likely failure to qualify for Europe this season may force them into having to listen to offers for the Italian international, with Jurgen Klopp’s side at the front of the queue to take advantage should this come to pass.

Balotelli’s €4 million a season contract at the San Siro runs until the end of the 2016-17 season, but it is reported that while Milan consider him an important member of the first team squad he is not seen as indispensable.

That could tempt last season’s Champions League finalists to make an offer of between €25-35 million for the player, who for the second season running is the Rossoneri’s leading goalscorer.
