Despite initial talks to the contrary Chelsea’s Michael Essien could still join AC Milan in the coming days.

The move for the Ghanian appeared to have gone flat after talks of a loan move went mysteriously quiet.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe the deal could still be on to bring the 31 year-old to the San Siro.

Clarence Seedorf is believed to be the one calling for Essien’s signing as he looks to make his midfield more competitive.

The arrival of Essien could signal the departure of Antonio Nocerino who’s been courted by English and Italian clubs.

Galatasaray are also interested in former Lyon man but the player would prefer Serie A ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.
