Premier League side Everton are paying close attention to the Genoa youngster Marco Soprano.

The 17-year-old centre-back is one of the most highly rated players in the Grifone’s youth system and the English side are considering making a move for him during January.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Toffees’ are keeping a keen eye on the player, though no bid has yet been tabled by the English side.

Soprano has been a mainstay in the Rossoblu’s Primavera side this year and has demonstrated his considerable pace and ability to read the game despite the side’s disappointing campaign.

Everton coach Roberto Martinez is well-known for developing young talent, and it appears his scouts have identified the Venice-born youngster as a gem that the Spaniard might be able to polish into something special.

Soprano has played nine games for Genoa’s Primavera side since joining from the youth system in summer.
