Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella is pleased with his sides effort to reach the Coppa Italia semi finals.

Marvin Compper and Josip Ilicic scored the goals that secured a 2-1 win over Serie B side Siena, and will now face Udinese after they defeated AC Milan in the other quarter final.

“We are delighted to have reached the semi-finals,” Montella told Rai Sport after the game. “We faced a tough opponent who made us sweat more than than we thought”.

“We will play a semi-final against a team like Udinese who are difficult to deal with. If a team reach the semi finals, they must have some value, players who can put you in trouble. Im not surprised they won against Milan.

“Matri? We do not we want to run the risk, tomorrow we will evaluate his situation. Ilicic? He made a lot of intensity and a sacrifice, but there is also [Ryder] Matos and then [Ante] Rebic as alternatives.

“[What does Anderson offer?] He has change of pace, dynamism and I think he wants to regain lost ground in his career. With the right motivation, he is first class and gives us a winning mentality because he won so much.”
