After having already snapped striker Alessandro Matri from AC Milan, Fiorentina could be set to do further business with the Rossoneri this January after it emerged that Viola sporting director Daniele Prade has asked after defenders Philippe Mexes and Cristian Zaccardo.

Thirty-one-year-old Mexes’ contract at the Stadio Meazza expires in 2015, and he is likely to find playing time hard to come by under new boss Clarence Seedorf, so is being linked with an imminent move away from Milanello, while veteran right-back Zaccardo is facing a similar situation.

According to Sport Mediaset, the Gigliati will have to compete with free-spending Monaco for the Diavolo’s French international, as their Coach Claudio Ranieri is keen to bring the French international to Ligue 1.

Meanwhile, 2006 World Cup winner Zaccardo has also been told he can look for a new club as he reportedly isn’t considered part of his new boss’ plans.

Mexes has scored 3 goals in 74 games for the Milanese giants since moving on a free transfer from Serie A rivals Roma in 2011, while Zaccardo has only managed seven appearances for Milan since transferring last January as part of the deal which saw Djamel Mesbah move to Parma.
