Fiorentina are pushing to sign AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old has struggled since joining the Rossoneri from Juventus over the summer and could be set for an exit after only six months at the San Siro.
Tuttomercatoweb.com reports that the Viola are in serious talks to sign the former Cagliari striker on loan for the remainder of the season with no option to buy.
With Giuseppe Rossi set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and Mario Gomez yet to make his return from a knee injury suffered in September, Matri would provide coach Vincenzo Montella with a much needed alternative in attack.
Matri joined Milan from Juventus for €11 million but has only scored one goal in 15 league appearances to date.
