Fiorentina have officially signed Sunderland defender Modibo Diakité on loan for the remainder of the season.
Viola coach Vincenzo coach has been seeking reinforcements in defence and has been linked with several players in recent days, however, it is now confirmed the club have landed one of their targets.
The Sunderland Echo has confirmed the loan deal has been finalised and it is understood Fiorentina will pay €150 000 for Diakité, with an option to purchase at the end of the season – although this has yet to be confirmed by either club.
The Frenchman of Senegalese descent joined Sunderland from Lazio in the summer but only featured in eight appearences for the Black Cats this season.
