Fiorentina unveiled their latest loan signing Anderson on Thursday with the Brazilian expressing his delight with the move.

The midfielder is on loan from English Barclay’s Premier League side Manchester United until the end of the season. The 25-year-old met with media on Thursday following his move and spoke of his excitement.

“Here in Florence there is a great project that convinced me to come,” Anderson stated.

“I am here to do well, players like Batistuta and Edmundo have played here in the past and I want to be at the centre of the project and win things like I did in Manchester.

“I’m pleased to be a part of Fiorentina, a club that is fighting to be one of the top teams in Europe.”

Anderson spent six and a half season with Manchester United, but found his playing time limited in recent seasons. However, the midfielder has won a host of honours with the Red Devils, including four Premier League titles and the 2007/08 Champions League.

“I’m here to convince people and to stay for the long term,” he added.

“My favourite position? I’ll even play in goal if they ask me, I’ll do whatever [Vincenzo] Montella wants.

“I like playing in midfield, but it doesn’t matter where.

“I like Montella, he has immediately put faith in me and I want to repay him on the pitch.”
