Juventus forward Fabio Quagliarella has rejected a proposed move to Cardiff City.

New Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been strengthening throughout the transfer window and sought to bring the 30-year old in on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

However, it is reported by Sky Sport Italia that Quagliarella has rejected the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

The Italy international has fallen out of favour in Turin after Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente were signed in the summer and the imminent arival of Pablo Osvaldo from Southampton could push Quagliarella out of the club.

Valencia is seen as a possible destination after the Spanish club sold Helder Postiga to Lazio.

Quagliarella has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Trabzonspor, however, it is understood the forward wants to return to Sampdoria.
