Lichtsteiner – Juventus

Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has revealed that the Bianconeri are looking to fully secure their spot at the top of the Serie A standings as soon as possible.

The Old Lady currently sit in first place on the league table with 52 points, which leaves them eight points ahead of second place Roma and 10 points ahead of third place Napoli, and the 29-year-old hopes they can close out their competition early this season.

Lichtsteiner spoke to Mediaset Premium after Juve’s 4-1 win over Cagliari on Sunday about his team’s victory, while also commenting on the quality of the Partenopei and the Giallorossi.

“We did well, we are satisfied,” said the Swiss international. “During the first half we risked something, but in the course of recovery we offered a good performance at a fast pace.

“Scudetto? There’s Roma and Napoli, who are ready to get back into the race. They have incredible quality.

“However, Juventus will try to bring the season to a close in the shortest time possible.”
