Cagliari boss Diego Lopez believes his side are moving in the right direction, despite falling 1-0 to Atalanta this afternoon.
Lopez saw his side hit the woodwork a remarkable three times during a dominant first half display but fell to a solitary second half Atalanta goal.
“I cannot blame my players for anything,” Lopez remarked to Rai Sport.
“We hit the woodwork three times in the first half as we imposed our game on the Dea.”
“We focused for the full ninety minutes, the team had a great game and you have to continue like this.”
“Despite losing today I can say we are on the right track.”
Cagliari have now gone five games without a win and drop down to fourteenth in Serie A with 21 points, only four points above the relegation zone.
