Manchester United will test Juventus’ resolve in trying to keep hold of midfielder Claudio Marchisio by offering Nani as a sweetner to a potential deal.

The Red Devils have long been aware of the Bianconeri’s interest in the Portuguese winger and they could insist he will not be allowed to leave unless Marchisio is part of the deal.

QS are reporting that while Juventus do not want to weaken their options in the middle of the park, the move could be of great benefit to both sides.

United are known to be keen on strengthening their options in the centre while the Italian champions have long looked to add a winger with Nani and Jonathan Biabiany among their top targets.

On Tuesday night, Forza Italian Football revealed that the English champions made an offer for Marchisio but the potential transfer could now be amended and would see Nani move to Turin in exchange.

Nani, 27, has made just six starts in all competitions for David Moyes’ men this season while Marchisio has also struggled to maintain his place in the once famous ‘MVP’ midfield, his position having been usurped by Paul Pogba of late.
