Clarence Seedorf, who will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal to become the new manager of AC Milan on Thursday, wants to bring his former Milan teammate Hernan Crespo to the club with him.

Crespo announced last year that he intends to go into coaching but has been without a job since retiring from playing with Parma in 2012.

Sky Sport Italia now claims that Seedorf will meet with Adriano Galliani on Thursday to agree a deal that will see Crespo join the Dutchman’s new look coaching staff immediately rather than in the summer as was originally suggested.

Seedorf hopes that the Argentinean will be able to act as an intermediary between himself and the players.

Another target for Seedorf is Jaap Stam, who was also a member of the Milan side that finished runners-up in the 2005 Champions League.

Stam, currently working as a coach with Ajax, may join the Rossoneri in the summer as assistant to Seedorf.
