West Ham United are reportedly the favourites to land Roma striker Marco Borriello this winter.

The 31-year-old hasn’t been able to earn a consistent spot in the Giallorossi line up, especially since the return of Mattia Destro from injury, and has been linked with a move away from the Italian side during the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are considered to be the favourites in signing the player and could even be one of the clubs that have been in contact with his agent.

Carlo Cavalleri, an agent of the former AC Milan man, also recently admitted that his client is on the radar of several Premier League teams and confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the interested parties.

“His profile is very much appreciated in England, as they are looking for players like this,” said the agent.

“Being here in London, I’ve had the chance to talk to various clubs. Tottenham? Yes, they were among them.”

Borriello has scored just one goal in his 11 Serie A appearances for Roma this season thus far.
