Massimiliano AllegriAC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has admitted that former coach Massimiliano Allegri will always have a place in his heart.

The 46-year-old tactician had been Rossoneri boss for nearly four years until he was sacked on January 13, and has since been replaced by former Milan player Clarence Seedorf, who has already earned the faith of the squad.

Muntari spoke to Sky Sport Italia about the arrival of Seedorf as coach and praised Allegri for his service to the Diavolo.

“When I played with Seedorf on the field he gave me lots of advice and our relationship hasn’t changed,” said the Ghanaian international.

“Now he’s our coach and he continues to give us advice. We have to follow him because he’s very good at what he does.

“I see him in training, he can do very well. All of us are convinced of his quality, he knows everything about football.

“I felt bad when Allegri was sacked, which is normal when a loved one is sent away.

“He has always been there for me. He’s the one who wanted me at AC Milan and for that I will always thank him.

“He will always be in my heart, along with all of my other coaches, from [Jose] Mourinho and [Luciano] Spalletti to [Gianpiero] Ventura and [Giovanni] Galeone.”
