AC Milan primavera coach Filippo Inzaghi expressed his delight following his side’s triumph in the 66th Viareggio Youth Tournament.

The 40-year-old, who began coaching the Rossoneri’s Primavera in 2012, tasted his first bit of success, when his side defeated Anderlecht 3-1 in the final.

“The boys deserved this victory as they were fantastic,” said the exuberant Milan legend according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They have done great things and surely this race will remain in their hearts forever.”

The victory comes at a time when the Rossoneri are experiencing one of their worst Serie A seasons in recent times, with the club sitting a shocking 9th place on 32 points.

“I also believe that President Silvio Berlusconi, Adriano Galliani and head of the youth system, Filippo Galli have their expectations met.” he concluded.

Inzaghi made more than 200 appearances for the Rossoneri and is considered to be one of their all-time legends.
