Wenger - ArsenalArsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Juventus and Napoli have the strongest chances of winning the Europa League this season.

Both Italian teams were eliminated from the Champions League surprisingly early this campaign, with Napoli being the most unlucky as they were eliminated despite having 12 points in their group, but the Gunners tactician is confident that Europa League play will be fairly easy for the two Serie A sides to succeed in.

Wenger spoke to Eurosport about the Bianconeri’s and Partenopei’s chances of being victorious in the competition and commented on their first opponents in the round of 32.

“Every year in Geneva it’s discussed whether the teams eliminated from the Champions League are more likely to automatically become the absolute favourites in the Europa League or not,” said the 64-year-old.

“Well, I think this is the case of Juventus, which I don’t think will have problems against Trabzonspor.

“However, I also think this of Napoli. The Azzurri are favoured against Swansea City, as well as in the competition in general.”

The Old Lady were able to overcome Trabzonspor with a 2-0 victory in their first leg match at home on Thursday, while Napoli only managed to secure a goalless draw away against Swansea.
