Cagliari have announced the sacking of assistant coach Ivo Pulga.

It was expected that Lopez could be on his way out of the Sardinian club after the weekend loss to Livorno, however, it is Lopez’s assistant Pulga who has been relived of his duties.

In a statement on Cagliari’s official website it is stated, “Cagliari Calcio announce that assistant coach Ivo Pulga has been dismissed.

“The club would like to thank the coach for his work and wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Pulga has been Calgiari’s assistant to Diego Lopez this season after swapping roles with the Uruguayan at the end of the 2012-13 season.

The 49-year old also played for the Sardianian club from 1982 to 1991, making 175 appearances before becoming coach in October 2012.
