Bologna have agreed to sell captain Alessandro Diamanti to Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Asian Champions League winners, managed by Marcello Lippi, have been trailing the talismanic wide man for a number of weeks and the two parties have finally reached a conclusion.

The Rossoblu’s official website Bolognafc.it has announced that an agreement is in place to ensure that the 30-year-old will leave the Stadio Renato dall’Ara.

Sky Sport Italia further report that the value transfer will be around €9 million, and suggest that Diamanti may have already agreed personal terms with Guangzhou, leaving only the official unveiling of the player.

The Prato-born attacker has been with Bologna for three seasons and was the subject of training ground protests in January, when the deal was initially proposed. He made eighty-three appearances for the Felsinei following his transfer from Brescia.

The Southern China Tigers will be playing a friendly in Romania this weekend before beginning their defence of both Asian Champions League and Chinese Super League, for which Diamanti will be in the squad.

Does this mean he wont go to the world cup? I’m guessing it means he will be not involved…
