AC Milan and Rangers legend Gennaro Gattuso could make an emotional return to the Ibrox, this time as a manager of the Scottish giants.
‘Rino’ Gattuso was a fan favourite at Rangers for the small duration he was there, and even met his wife while he was playing in Scotland.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Rangers have made him an offer, but he refused it.
The board, however, are still hopeful they can lure the Italian back to Rangers, who now ply their trade in the third tier of Scottish football after they went bankrupt in 2012.
Gattuso was the coach of Palermo for five games this season in Serie B, before he was dismissed in September by trigger-happy president Maurizio Zamparini.
