Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin felt Genoa deserved a point from their match against his charges, despite the Zebrette being two goals up at one point.

The Fruiliani were 3-1 up at the beginning of the second half, but a double from Alberto Gilardino earned the Grifone a point.

“Genoa always believed and they had the backing of an extraordinary crowd,” the 58-year-old told Rai Sport. “When you have a support like that, it’s hard not to miss.

“In the second half we were unable to keep our high tempo.

“I have to say that the result is correct, and great credit should be given to both my boys and Genoa, who believed in themselves until the end.”
