Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic has revealed that he misses his former club Fiorentina but has no plans of leaving the Citizens.

The 24-year-old, who arrived at City from the Viola before the start of the current season, hasn’t seen much time on the pitch due to an injury, as he has just one goal in his six Premier League appearances for the club thus far, but is now back in the team’s line up and is looking to do well.

Jovetic spoke to Sportmediaset after Manchester City’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday about the match and Lionel Messi’s controversial penalty that put the Spanish side ahead, while also admitting that he misses Fiorentina.

“We have all seen that the contact was made outside of the box,” said the Montenegrin international.

“The referee was 30 yards behind and couldn’t clearly see, and the linesman didn’t tell him anything.

“The red card [on Martin Demichelis] was correct, but if we didn’t concede that penalty, it would have been a different game.

“It always hurts to lose. This could have been one of the best matches we’ve had.

“Do I miss Fiorentina? Sure, Florence is a beautiful city. Of course I’m missing it, but I haven’t said that I want to return there.”
