Juventus have refused to be drawn into the recent war of words between current and former coaches Antonio Conte and Fabio Capello.

Conte’s criticism of Capello’s tenure whilst in charge of the Old Lady is a slightly awkward situation for the Bianconeri hierachy as he could be construed as speaking negatively of the club and their previous achievements.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Juventus have decided not to release any official statement on the matter and hope the issue will end there.

Speaking on Russian TV last week Capello was critical of Conte’s decision to cancel the players day off and bring them in for extra training following the Bianconeri’s draw with Verona, to which Conte responded to Sky Sport Italia following Juve’s win over Chievo on Sunday.

“I’ve heard a lot of stupid things regarding the decisions I make,” the current Bianconeri coach said. “Capello likes to stick his nose in where it’s not wanted.

“Of his [Capello’s] two years in charge, I don’t remember much football but rather the two revoked Scudetti.”

Capello was in charge of Juventus from 2004-2006, winning two Serie A titles which were later removed as a result of the Calciopoli scandal. He is now in charge of the Russian national team.
