Sassuolo head coach Alberto Malesani believes that his side made massive strides from their last game against Hellas Verona during their loss against Inter.
Inter overcame Malesani’s Sassuolo 1-0 on Sunday evening but the head coach is happy with the performance of his players despite the defeat.
“If you compare the defeat to last Sunday, we have made great strides,” admitted Malesani to Sky Sport Italia.
“We need to improve defending set pieces, but overall we didn’t suffer much.
“The first half was fairly balanced, we had a great opportunity through [Domenico] Berardi who tested [Samir] Handanovic.
“I have been with the team for 10 days and I have already seen a big improvement, I’m not upset.”
Sassuolo currently lie second from bottom in Serie A and have only won one of their last eleven league games.
