Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic acknowledged his side made too many errors for them to give Roma a better game at the Stadio Olimpico in their 3-0 loss.

The scoreline could even have been worse by the end but in the end a Mattia Destro double and wicked Miralem Pjanic free kick were enough for a routine Roma win.

“We deserved to lose this game because we made too many mistakes and Roma did deserve the victory,” he told Sky Sport Italia afterwards. “Many of the chances that Roma created were as a result of our own mistakes although we were maybe unlucky we could not get a goal ourselves.

“During the first half we made the wrong choice too many times and then after the second goal we were no longer in the game and just made to many errors.

“The thing that bothers me the most is that we have too players unavailable for the next game through suspension for unavoidable incidents but they are a good team with good players.”

The former Fiorentina boss also gave his thoughts on how he believes the Scudetto race will pan out.

“I think that Juventus will win the league again. Roma and Napoli can be happy with how they have played but Juve are just a step ahead.”
