This weekend, the last round of fixtures before the Viareggio Cup kicks in this coming mid-week took place across all three Primavera divisions.

Torino’s amazing run of form continues with two of their real standout talents in Mattia Aramu and Emanuel Gyasi getting on the score sheet in a 3-1 victory over Carpi.

With Juventus’ meeting with Cesena postponed, it meant Empoli could further move clear in second place and they duly did so by getting the best of five goals in a game featuring eight.

Five different scorers on the day against Novara on the road helped them to the victory in a game in which they had opened up a commanding 4-1 lead.

Genoa’s awful form continues as they fell to a 1-0 loss against Modena and they remain rooted to the foot of the Group A table after losing to the team who were just two points above them going into the game.

Parma once more had their excellent young starlet Alberto Cerri to thank for helping dig them out of trouble against Sassuolo after he bagged a brace in a 2-0 win with two goals in the closing stages.

The impressive Spezia were once again victorious and have a host of top talents to keep an eye on with their latest victory coming with a 3-0 success away to Bologna.

Edoardo Oneto got two goals for Sampdoria in their even better 4-0 victory as they easily swept aside Siena with a 4-0 win.

Only four games survived the cut fixture list for teams in Group B which gave Atalanta the opportunity to put further distance between themselves and the rest.

They duly obliged with that. La Dea were truly sensational once again, setting down a real marker, as they came out from after the break (leading 1-0) to put a further four past Pescara in a 5-1 victory with five different players putting the ball into the back of the net.

Second-placed Chievo were stunned at AC Milan and lost ground on the leaders by falling to a 4-2 defeat with Andrea Petagna, who had featured as a substitute for the Rossoneri’s first team the previous night, scoring twice to add to goals from Davide Di Molfetta and Alex Pedone.

Inter are doing their best to keep pace at the top with George Puscas again inspiring the Nerazzurri as they bested Cittadella 3-1 away from home.

Danilo Ruzzittu got the only goal of the game for Varese against Virtus Lanciano before the break while it took a solitary strike again for Padova as they squeaked past Ternana.

Christopher Oikonomidis scored twice for Lazio as their peerless performances continue and those were two of six goals that they put past Trapani.

Something was also going to give behind them as Fiorentina and Roma, placed second and third respectively, battled it out for the right to keep pace with the Biancocelesti at the top and it was the Viola who did just that through an Axel Gulin strike.

Catania remain a team to look out for as they seem to be recapturing some of the form they showed last year and won with Simone Caruso getting the only goal of the game against Latina.

Their Sicilian rivals Palermo played out a thriller in the mainland against Bari by drawing 3-3 in an end to end encounter in which the draw was the deserved outcome.

Juve Stabia shocked Livorno by winning 1-0 at home while Napoli were victorious on the road by cruising past Crotone 2-0.

Avellino picked up only their second point of the season by drawing 0-0 away at Reggina.
