Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has played down concerns over his knee injury after the 3-0 win over Sampdoria.

The Bosnian midfielder scored with a sumptuous free kick during the match, and also spoke about their recent Coppa Italia semi final loss to Napoli and his own future at the club.

“In recent times, at the end of matches I was not well with my knee, but today I was much better,” Pjanic told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Many criticisms were directed at us after the defeat against Napoli and I do not think they were correct. They deserved to win, but we’ve always given everything to win.

“If we had scored in one of the chances we created, the tie would have turned differently. we were angry and we showed that on the field.

“We know we can play on par with strong teams like Juventus or Napoli and today we’ve proved it by giving an important response to our critics.

“My future? I’m right here and right now I’m focused on the championship. With the club, it’ll be discussed later and we’ll find the right solution.”
