AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy has confirmed that he is not far away from making a return to first team action for the Rossoneri.

Having been sidelined since mid-December, the 21-year-old’s recovery could prove a timely boost for the Rossoneri as they look to finish the season strongly.

Speaking via his official Twitter account, El Shaarawy did not hide his eagerness to get back on the field.

“My return isn’t far off now… I can’t wait,” the Italy international wrote.

Furthermore, the player was clearly delighted with AC Milan’s performance in their 3-0 win over Chievo on Saturday night, and particularly Kaka’s decisive contribution.

“The lads were great and Kaka was immense… A brace and 300 appearances for Milan!”

Having been restricted to just four Serie A appearances so far this season, El Shaarawy is understandably keen to return to action with time running out for him to press forward a case for inclusion in the Italy squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
