Antonio Candreva Lazio midfielder has revealed that his team will be looking to earn a spot for next season after their 1-0 victory over on Sunday.

The 27-year-old is hoping the Biancocelesti, who were recently eliminated from the Europa League in the round of 32 by Bulgarian side , can now find continuity in these last few months of the campaign as they try to make their way back into European play next season.

“We played a great game in a difficult stadium,” the Italian international told Mediaset.

“We were looking to redeem our Europa League elimination and we succeeded in doing so.

“Our goal is to get back into the tournament next season, which means we have to give continuity in our performances as the final matches will be decisive of this.

“Marchetti found his form again? There was no finding it again, he’s a great goalkeeper and a great person.

“I’ve never had any doubts about his quality.”

Lazio currently sit in eighth place on the Serie A table, just seven points away from breaking into the top five.

- Forza Italia! I'm an Italian-American writer hailing from New York and I love calcio. You could call me an extreme Azzurri supporter and when it comes to Serie A, I mainly support Napoli (with Roma coming in a close second), though I have a great appreciation for all of the Italian teams and their players. Some of my favourite players are Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Antonio Di Natale, Mario Balotelli, Daniele De Rossi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Francesco Totti (of course). Notice anything they have in common? Outside of Italian football, I am a fan of Liverpool and the New York Red Bulls. Follow me on Twitter for a variety of interesting tweets: @beardedlegend
