Chievo coach Eugenio Corini believes his side did enough to deserve a point from their 3-1 defeat to Fiorentina on Sunday night.

Alberto Paloschi’s second half goal cut the Viola’s lead to 2-1 before a late Mario Gomez strike sealed the Flying Donkeys fate in a match that Corini believes his side played well.

“Chievo played a great match,” he stated at a post-match press conference as reported by firenzeviola.it.

“They created enough to deserve a draw after the opening goal. We were only missing the final pass in order to earn a draw that we certainly deserved. We caused trouble against a great team.”

Corini also commented on the upcoming Fiorentina-Juventus clash in the Europe League on Thursday, stating he is looking forward to the showcase it will provide for Italian football.

“Thursday’s match? It will be a spectacle for Italian football. It will be an open match and one that could provide any result.
