Fiorentina will reportedly send on-loan striker Alessandro Matri back to AC Milan at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Viola on loan from the Rossoneri during this campaign’s January transfer window, has failed to find his form with the Gigliati since his arrival and it seems the club have already made their decision to let him go come June.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan executive Adriano Galliani was willing to enter negotiations with Fiorentina to sell the Italian for a fee of around €7-8 million, but the Florence side apparently have no interest in permanently signing him.

Alessandro Matri had only scored one goal in his 15 Serie A appearances for the Diavolo this season before moving to the Viola in January and has since only scored three goals in 10 league appearances for his new team thus far, with two of those goals coming in his Fiorentina debut.
