Alessandro Matri - AC Milan will reportedly send on-loan striker back to at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Viola on loan from the Rossoneri during this campaign’s January transfer window, has failed to find his form with the Gigliati since his arrival and it seems the club have already made their decision to let him go come June.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan executive was willing to enter negotiations with Fiorentina to sell the Italian for a fee of around €7-8 million, but the Florence side apparently have no interest in permanently signing him.

Alessandro Matri had only scored one goal in his 15 appearances for the Diavolo this season before moving to the Viola in January and has since only scored three goals in 10 league appearances for his new team thus far, with two of those goals coming in his Fiorentina debut.

- Forza Italia! I'm an Italian-American writer hailing from New York and I love calcio. You could call me an extreme Azzurri supporter and when it comes to Serie A, I mainly support Napoli (with Roma coming in a close second), though I have a great appreciation for all of the Italian teams and their players. Some of my favourite players are Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Antonio Di Natale, Mario Balotelli, Daniele De Rossi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Francesco Totti (of course). Notice anything they have in common? Outside of Italian football, I am a fan of Liverpool and the New York Red Bulls. Follow me on Twitter for a variety of interesting tweets: @beardedlegend
