Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin insists that he wants to stay at Inter after stating that a new contract with the Nerazzurri is in the works.

The 27 year old Colombian was on the verge of a transfer to rivals Juventus in January only for Inter president Erick Thohir to veto the deal at the last minute.

“The collapse of the move? It was a big moment, what happened gives me so many reasons to stay,” Guarin told Tuttosport.

“It had never happened to have so many fans to support me. Now it is time for the renewal, my agent will soon be in Milan and there will be no problems to sign until 2017. I’m happy here and I will do everything to stay for longer.”

Guarin has netted three times in 24 Serie A appearances for Inter this season.
