Manchester United scouts were in attendance at the Stadio Olimpico on March 2 as they continued to keep tabs on Mehdi Benatia and Miralem Pjanic.

It was reported that the scouts were sent directly by manager David Moyes, who is keen to strengthen his team for the 2014-15 season.

According to Il Messaggero, the Red Devils’ scouting team was pleased by both Pjanic and Benatia’s performances, but were allegedly most impressed by Alessio Romagnoli.

The 19-year-old has now become another transfer target for the Old Trafford outfit. However, Roma  have no intention of selling a player they consider one of the greatest young prospects in the game.
