Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini has stated that his team deserved to lose after they were thrashed by Sampdoria.
The Gialloblu were defeated 5-0 by the Doriani and Mandorlini thought that his team did not keep possession for very long in the game.
“Today’s match lasted 20 minutes and Today we deserved the defeat,” Mandorlini told Rai Sport.
“The team gave up after Sampdoria’s third goal. In Serie A periods like this can happen.
Verona are currently equal eighth on the Serie A table with Atalanta on 40 points and they have not scored in their last four Serie A games. However, the Gialloblu coach still believes that his team has not slowed down and they are only going through lean spell for the time being.
“Unwind after reaching 40 points? The team is always ready and prepared,” said Mandorlini.
“It is a period in which we are not good at scoring.”
