Inter coach Walter Mazzarri warned media, fans and his players that the team can’t think about finishing third place.

The Nerazzurri extended their unbeaten run to six games following a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona on Saturday.

“Third place? We can’t think about it,” said Mazzarri to Sky Sport Italia.

“We take it one game at a time, like we always do. We should play the same way whether we’re home or away.”

When asked about his future and the January signing of Hernanes, the tactician was coy with his response.

“When [the board] asked what I want, I said a player like [Hernanes]. I also requested him when I was with Napoli.

“I have a contract until 2015. Someone has manipulated my words from yesterday, but right now I do not think about that, my attention is focused on the team.”

Inter temporarily move to fourth, eight back of Napoli for the last Champions League spot.
