Olympique Lyonnais coach Remi Garde believes that Europa League quarter-final opponents Juventus are the favourites to win the competition.
Lyon will host Juve at the Stade de Gerland on April 3 before travelling to Turin for the second leg on April 10.
“We have drawn the favourites of the competition, one of the best teams in Europe with a strong history,” the 47-year-old tactician said during a press conference.
“This is a very tough draw but it is an event for the club, for the team.
“We have nothing to lose, we will be the outsiders.
The tie will be the first time that Lyon will face the Bianconeri in a competitive game, and Garde is aware of the size of the task facing his players.
“We will face prodigious opponents who Lyon have never met before. That’s interesting,” he continued.
“I do not think the players will need to be motivated to play Juventus or to play other games in the coming weeks.
“The most important thing is to recover well.
“I just hope to have my squad at its maximum during this period.”
