Torino’s incredible run in Group A continues, making them the most in-form Primavera side at present thanks to their latest success.

They took on second place Empoli and sent them home with nothing to show for their efforts through Marco Benedini’s first half header, extending the longest lead across all three Primavera groups at present.

Third-place Juventus got back on track with a 3-0 victory away to Carpi although their task was made easier when Matteo Gerbaudo scored a fifth minute penalty after the Carpi ‘keeper was shown red before Alhassane Soumah scored his first two goals of the season to wrap up the win.

Novara continue to fly high with their latest success coming with a hard-fought and fantastic 2-1 win over Sampdoria at home through two goals in the space of seven second half minutes after going behind early.

Cesena and Sassuolo both picked up solitary 1-0 away victories over Modena and Siena respectively while Genoa-Spezia and Parma-Bologna both ended scoreless.

Top spot in Group B continues to be traded as Chievo, who finally knocked Atalanta off it last week, slipped up with a 0-0 draw against Udinese.

Atalanta reclaimed the top spot with a devastating 7-1 win away to Virtus Lanciano, currently placed second from bottom and now lead the Flying Donkeys on goal difference.

Goals in each half for AC Milan were enough for their 2-0 win away to Ternana, moving into third, after rivals Inter slipped up by losing 3-2 at home to Cagliari despite going in front.

Hellas Verona’s early season forms seems to have deserted them somewhat of late and they fell to another loss, this time losing 2-1 at home to Padova who had Davide Voltan to thank for his brace.

Cristiano Ingretolli send Pescara on their way to a comprehensive 3-0 win away to bottom club Cittadella and two goals in four minutes rescued Varese who beat Brescia.

Lazio remain out in front of Group C after besting Latina 5-3 in an action-packed clash, scoring three goals in three minutes to help them on their way to that success.

Fiorentina and Livorno also served up a game filled with goals in which the Gigliati edged through defender Gianluca Mancini’s winner seven minutes from time to ensure a 3-2 success.

The goals kept flowing south of the capital as Napoli and Palermo shared four goals between them and Roma remained third with a closer than expected 1-0 win over lowly Avellino thanks to a goal from Nijki Tchoutou.

Catania were also one goal victors away at Crotone with Fabio Aveni getting the only goal 10 minutes from time as did Bari at home to Reggina.

Finally, Juve Stabia bested Crotone 4-2 with the pick of the players in that one being Salvatore Elefanti who hit a hat-trick.
