Former AC Milan striker Paolo Rossi has criticised the performance of Mario Balotelli and his Rossoneri team-mates following their Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid.
Milan suffered a 4-1 defeat in the second leg at the Vicente Calderon and Rossi was disappointed that Balotelli was unable to make a telling contribution during the game.
“I was hoping that Balotelli could make a difference, it was a match where a potential champion had to show off his qualities,” the former World Cup winner told Sky Sport Italia.
“Tonight SuperMario has done very little, he offered a colourless performance as well as that of his team-mates against a well organised formation.
“Milan did not have the right reaction after 2-1 against Atletico.”
