AC Milan coach Clarence Seedorf has said that he came to “have a go” after his side’s Round of 16 Champions League exit.

The Rossoneri were knocked out of the competition after their 5-1 aggregate loss to Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

“The team is psychologically tough,” Seedorf told Sky Sport Italia. “We knew how to react when we were down.

“We have analysed the situation, the Champions League was an important goal for us.

“We wanted to have a go after that great game at the San Siro, but the players’ physical condition wasn’t at its best”.

Seedorf concluded his words with a brief overview of why his side lost and the need to look to the future.

“We look to the future,” he said. “We need to clarify what we need from Serie A.

“The eleven games at the end are important.

“It’s a sad, bitter moment, the players are disappointed and it’s my job to make them feel better.

“In the second half, we didn’t have the determination.

“I was always convinced that I made the right decision in coming to Milan”.

what rubbish is essien in yesterday’s match. he was completely naive in positioning, attack and even defending..he should have rot at chelsea, only a foolish club like milan can actually think of bringing him in. tactically he was all at sea , just like taarabt – another useless player, the whole team was a disgrace, the only person who can claim some dignity was abbiati! abate don’t know how to cross, and adel raimi- what an overrated player. emmanuelson kept losing the ball and essien was completely useless preferring to JOG back when he lost the ball. Go back to your useless EPL. Balotelli completely lost it in his head..seedorf – as expected after all the excitement of a new managerial change – the reality will set in now – just as how allegri found it difficult to work with players he don’t want.
