Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson is rumoured to be on the shopping list of Italian club Fiorentina for the summer transfer window.

The Swede’s contract expires at the end of the season and reports suggest that there are a number of clubs interested in his signature.

Fiorentina are believed to be leading the race to land his signature but they face stiff competition from Borussia Monchengladbach according to TheJournal.co.uk.

With the Black Cats unlikely to offer the 28-year-old an extension it is believed the Viola are eyeing him as a possible replacement for veteran David Pizarro, who also becomes a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Known for his free-kick expertise, the Swede previously played for Birmingham City and Arsenal before joining Sunderland in 2011.
