Troublesome Atalanta forward Marko Livaja has hit out at his own club’s fans on Facebook by calling them ‘Italian bastards’ in a series of worrying messages.

The striker had taken some heavy criticism from La Dea supporters in the wake of their loss to Hellas Verona at the weekend, a game in which he started and was substituted in and his angry reaction to the change had him involved in a heated exchange with fans pitchside.

That exchange continued when he got home and took to his Facebook page as he responded to fans telling him to leave the club by telling them to “come to Croatia then, Italian bastards.”

The comment has since been deleted although he did have another response to a fan writing to him to say that while the former Inter man may have a great future in the game, the public have every right to boo him and that he should show the support more respect to fans before inviting him to leave the club to which Livaja replied: “You wish, shits.”

This is not the first such incident involving Livaja as he came under fire from coach Stefano Colantuono in March for comments he made while he also punched teammate Ivan Radovanovic last season.
