Bologna coach Davide Ballardini feels his side deserved more than the 1-1 draw earned against Parma on Sunday afternoon.

The draw earned the Rossoblu a valuable point in their battle against relegation but Ballardini was adamant his side deserved the full three points and should’ve been granted a penalty for a foul against Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.

“Parma is a great squad and they demonstrated it today but I’m happy with my men and think our squad has good quality,” Ballardini told Sky Sport Italia after the match at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

“I think it’s clear the referee should have awarded a penalty in our favour but he decided otherwise,” Ballardini said about a incident where Christodoulopoulos may have been fouled in the Parma penalty area.

Bologna outplayed Parma for long stretches of the match but were unable to find the second goal which may have secured the victory and the Rossoblu paid for their wasted chances when Raffaele Palladino’s volley 10 minutes before the death doomed the home side to a draw.

“Going forward we are still alive and will keep fighting to avoid relegation until the season’s final match.”
