Reports in Italy claim that Roma have earmarked Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as their top target this summer.

While the 24-year-old, who has scored 13 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances this season, only moving to Germany last July, the capital club are said to be keen on securing the former AC Milan attacker’s services

According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma have been courting in each position and highlighted Aubameyang as their ideal attacking choice.

Elsewhere, Cagliari’s Davide Astori remains their top defensive target, while Tottenham’s Brazilian midfielder Paulinho – who is supposedly unsettled in London – is seen as a potential midfield option.

Finally, there were whispers of a move for Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, who was brought to Italy by Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini back in 2007 when he was Director of Football at Lazio.

Ultimately, however, while Aubameyang would undoubtedly represent a good fit for Roma, the imminent departure of Robert Lewandowski could leave Dortmund unwilling to part ways with any of their other attacking options.
