Cagliari coach Ivo Pulga has thanked former president Massimo Cellino for granting him the opportunity to take over the side.
The tactician took over from Diego Lopez during the week and oversaw a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo on Saturday evening, a result that he was happy to take home.
“The lads were great and really threw their hearts into it,” he admitted to Sky Sport Italia after the game. “Its an important point against a direct competitor.”
He also admitted that Cellino may have left the club, but the new Leeds United owner remains emotionally tied to the Isolani.
“He is not only focused on Leeds. I feel he is still very attached to Cagliari.”
“I can only thank him for giving me a chance last year that nobody had given me over 14 years of youth [coaching].”
